The goal of this project was to create a brand/company based on a key concept of our choice.  From there, we created name, logo, and packaging designs based on the company.  Lastly, business cards, envelopes, and letterheads were designed based on the previous components to fulfill the company brand idea.
Brainstorming
Hand Sketches
Digital Sketches
Here is the process of my logo design.  I wanted to incorporate some sort of yarn design in the piece.  My first idea had a yarn ball with a crochet hook and my second was a granny square that you would see on blankets.  With these two subjects in mind, I blended them into the third design, which showcases a blanket in the process of being made, with the yarn flowing out from the homemade item, and the crochet hook in a position where it flows these two concepts of the blanket and the yarn ball together.  The final design I ended up choosing is on the fifth page, in the top right corner.
Containers and Borders
In this section, I was experimenting with potential container and border layouts for my icon.  Ultimately, I did not end up choosing any of these and kept with the plain icon design as shown above.

Packaging Designs
Package File
With the different packaging designs, I was able to pick, choose, and combine my favorite elements from each one which led to this final design.  I know I wanted to incorporate elements of the logo around the package, hence the repeating and alternating hook pattern. The enlarged yarn ball and the crochet hook on the package design added to this element as well.  The stitching pattern on the sides and handles not only represents the logo but also adds contrast to the packaging design while simultaneously bringing everything together.  I also added a dashed line on the light blue bits to represent a stitch-like pattern that relates to the idea of being handmade and crochet in general.
Practice Mockups
The idea behind these mockups was to have tags to attached the the products, business cards to put for the customer about the company, and the shipping box itself that would contain all of these contents.
